MetPro will make recommendations for your primary and secondary training focus at each assessment. These recommendations are based on both your selected algorithm (goal), body type, and your current nutrition cycle. In most cases, doing additional exercise from other categories outside of the focus recommended by MetPro will not negatively impact your progress.
Generally speaking, including activities that you enjoy can add variety and even help progress. However, if you want to optimize your results, considering the recommended workout categories will ensure that you are putting the majority of your energy where it matters most. Sometimes, going off-script too far can blunt the efficiency of your routine. For example, individuals with body types that build mass easily may find it makes strategic sense to include categories that are aerobic-focused when trying to cut weight. Likewise, people who have selected “Build Muscle” as their goal will need to include strength training often to fully realize this goal. Individuals participating in sports-specific training may find themselves logging workouts in categories not directly recommended, but still see great results.
