Not directly. MetPro isn’t a food-logging app. It’s a tailored meal plan with an algorithm that adapts based on how you respond to a set meal plan. You can log extra macro’s such as protein and carbs by grams in the “Extra Food” screen, but not specific food items. This feature is for occasions when you are generally following your base meal plan but add a little extra to your MetPro meals or an additional snack in-between them.
How do I tell MetPro when I’ve had a compliant meal?
Using the main interface console, check-off meals that were eaten on plan. Meals that incorporated foods not on the food lists, or in quantities that stray too far from your portion allocation should simply be left unchecked that day. This structure is critical for MetPro to collect good data and accurately calculate recommendations.
Are there exceptions to this rule?
MetPro calculates foods by category, and only occasionally by brand. This cuts down on challenges when food manufacturers update their formulas. As an example, you may find Whole Wheat Tortilla’s (6 inch) in the meal carb list. There are many food manufacturers that make this product; therefore you’ll see a note under this food that indicates you are looking for 15g of carbs for this product. If your favorite brand is reasonably close that’s fine!
Are all foods in the MetPro library available to me?
Not always. MetPro takes into consideration your chosen goal, diet cycle and current meal plan. Foods may be added or removed from the list on this basis. As an example, we love bananas but due to their higher glycemic load they may be temporarily absent on more restrictive phases. Conversely, you may find some new options on your food lists when on higher diet phases.
If a food is absent from my food list does it mean it’s unhealthy?
Not necessarily! The coaches at MetPro have tackled the ambitious task of calculating and quantifying how your body is responding based on data sets from thousands of users. Consistent data is key, which means using traditional foods that are most common. Most people find the food lists extensive and full of variety. The biggest missing categories are processed or packaged foods –and yes that is by design. MetPro has been optimized for results, which mean emphasizing, clean “whole foods”.
How particular does every meal have to be?
Our experts recognize the value of good tracking while practicing reasonableness. For this reason, if you’ve followed your MetPro meal with reasonable accuracy, check it off. If you have a favorite non-junk-food that you’d like to incorporate from time to time, simply leave that meal unchecked. Just remember if it included junk food, those items should always be logged in the “Junk Food & Alcohol” screen.
