If you have every intention of following your meal plan but still struggle to get your recommended meals at regular times, you’re not alone! Packing and preparing in advance is the key. If you leave home without any prep, it’s almost impossible to follow a calculated meal plan. That doesn’t mean you can’t make choices that reflect a good nutritional strategy, but prep is required for precise analytics and optimal results. The trick is prepping the right meals. Here’s the priority list:
- Snacks
- Lunches
That’s it! If you can only do one thing, prepare snacks according to your meal plan. If you can do two things, prepare lunches also. We all get very busy mid-day. We tend to become victims of our schedule more than anything else. Breakfast is rarely an issue as long as you’ve shopped and have quality foods stocked up. Dinner can be managed whether cooking at home or dining out as long as you’re not starving from missed meals during the day. If you’re on the road, any quality grocer will provide quick access to premade foods on your plan (just make sure to pick up enough for more then one meal). We recommend prepping for three days at a time (though you can design snacks that can be prepped for the entire week). If you have your snacks and lunch prepared in advance, you’ll not only save time and money, you’ll be successful at following your meal plan consistency.
